Parsons Cemetery is frequently asked questions related to Genealogy.  Regretfully, our information is often limited to the information recorded on the monuments.  The Parsons Cemetery Advisory Committee is working to improve on this by creating a map and database using the Ramaker Cemetery Information Management System (CIMS) that not only captures cemetery operational information but will also capture personal information on all who rest here.

We have been working with volunteers to survey historic grave-sites, photograph monuments, and assist in developing the information for entry into CIMS.  If you have pertinent information on an ancestor or loved one that you would like to share, please contact us! We expect to bring this information online in the future.

In the meanwhile, we recommend you visit the following sites for more historical information about the persons interred in Parsons Cemetery.

Find-A-Grave.com is the best source of information and the most accurate. Virtually all of the markers in Parsons have been photographed and posted on this site. In addition, you might also find obituaries and other information about the families buried on a lot. The site is searchable by name and date.

The NABB Center at Salisbury University has an archive of Historical Eastern Shore Newspapers available online. These can be dowloaded for free. They also have a wide array of historical documents and the librarians there are very helpful.

Old Parsons Cemetery log books have been digitized by the Nabb Center and can be viewed for free. Note that these log books might have inconsistencies.

FamilySearch.org is a free website which may also contain genealogical information pertaining to persons interred in Parsons Cemetery. The site is free but you must create a user profile first.

Maryland Death Records and Indexes are available online. Death records are available online though 1922 while index cards are available online through 2014.
